Quick & Delicious Cracked Wheat Bowl
I'm a big breakfast person.. It's funny because when I was younger I didn't used to be at all.. I would be one of those running to college on an empty stomach to then devour a big, late lunch later.. But one day, actually when I decided to get into healthier eating habits, I found out how crucial breakfast was, it kicks off your metabolism and has so many benefits.. So since then, and that's quite a while ago, I never ever miss breakie :) I love oatmeal, porridge, hot cereal and now my new thing is cracked wheat in the morning.. I feel like a million dollars after eating this bowl of healthy goodness.. Good morning Dubai ♥
Easy. Prep & Cook Time : 15 minutes
Serves 2 - 3
- 1/2 cup cracked wheat
- 1 1/2 cup of low fat milk (add less if you like it thicker, more if you like runny)
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 sliced banana
- handful of almonds, toasted and crushed
- a dollop of mascarpone cheese
Bring the milk and sugar to a boil, then add the cracked wheat and simmer for about 8 minutes (or as directed on your pack).. You want the wheat to soften up but still have a crunch to it.. Stir occasionally so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan.. Pour the cracked wheat in a bowl, place bananas on top, add a dollop of mascarpone and sprinkle generously with the toasted almonds.. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI am not sure where you are located kamilla but you can get it at any grocery store in the US. It is also known as cream of wheat and is in the cereal aisle usually. Hope that helps.
