Foodie Havens
DELICACIES
AROUND TOWN
So I am reviving my "Foodie
Havens" page by now adding images of the dishes I enjoyed in all these
places. I would like to point out though that I'm not going to criticize any foodie place.
Who am I to decide what is good or not, everyone's taste buds are different..
And if I can influence anyone in any slight, even teeny, tiny way, then I
wouldn't want to spread negativity, and maybe cause even the slightest harm to
a business and therefore someone involved. My conscience would haunt me
forever! After all, I just want to spread the love of food :) So I'm
only commenting on the nice, pleasant and yummy dishes I've had, and
will leave my humble negative criticisms to myself. So having said all that, I
now hope you enjoy this little section as much as I do. I'll keep it updated
with all the new places I try out around town. Much love, D xx
Mezza House in Old Town:
I'm not someone who actually eats at a lot of Lebanese/Arabic restaurants, but the other day, I went for lunch
with my sis and a friend at Mezza House, a restaurant specializing in
"Levantine" cuisine. From Lebanese classics, to Jordanian and traditional Syrian dishes, I must admit reading the menu made me
wonder why I don't eat or cook as much Arabic food as I should. These are a few
of the memorable dishes I had, their special Mtabal was lovely with pomegranate seeds and
beautifully caramelized onions. Also really enjoyed the fattoush (it's tough to
find a good fattoush in restaurants, no matter how easy it is to make!). The
Ras Asfour and the Kibbe with Sumac and Onions were delish as well,
simple but with a twist.. It's making me hungry just writing about it!

Fire & Ice @ Raffles Hotel - What can I say, this place
simply has the best burger in town.. Literally!! And the truffled potatoes were
to die for.. As was their beautiful wine selection.. Delicious!
